Thank you to my mother-in-law, I finally got the chance and tried the famous Sakura Cha (桜茶, Cherry Blossom Tea) from Japan, and more importantly, a different taste of Spring ;)
Sakura Cha is a popular drink for celebrations for special occasions. It is made with Sakura cherry blossoms which pickled in salt and this way to preserve the cherry flavors. Therefore, they are also being called the Pickled Sakura Flowers.
The flavor of the Sakura Cha is very gentle and light, slightly salty (but adjustable), fresh, and of course, the interesting taste of the Cherry Flowers.

How to Perpare the tea?

Step 1. Take one flower for each tea cup! (However, if you see two flowers together, then gentaly split them, and divide one for each! ) There are different brands and packaging in Japan, so in my case, the tea has been nicely divided and packed in small individual bag.

Step 2. Put lukewarm water in each cup with the flower and let it sit for about five minutes. This way we can desolve the salt out of the flower.

Step 3. Take the flowers out and put it in another tea cup with hot water. Adjust the flavor and saltiness by adding some of the salty water with a spoon from the other cup!
Now, just enjoy the flavor of the spring and the cup of tea!
